You can take local action to help people and wildlife thrive.

What You Can Do to Help Nature

From participating in a shoreline cleanup, to starting a native plant garden, to becoming a Living Planet Leader, there’s something for everyone eager to make a difference for nature with WWF-Canada!

Living Planet @ School

From planting native plants for habitat to keeping litter out of it, to switching off for Earth Hour and celebrating National Sweater Day, as a primary or secondary school teacher you can call your students to take action for nature with our suite of activities throughout the school year.

As an educator, you can create an account and:

  • Register and record the hands-on actions your students take
  • Apply for a $500 Go Wild School Grant to kick start a project
  • Share your story of success to inspire others into action
  • Request a classroom certificate to celebrate your positive impact

Together, let’s demonstrate how the actions of each student across Canada helps build a future where people and nature thrive.

The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup

Litter and other garbage doesn’t belong in nature. Oceans and lakes, rivers and forests – as well as the diverse wildlife that call these habitats home – bear the burden of our waster. Scientists predict that if current trends of plastic pollution continue, there will be more plastic than fish in the east by 2050. Together, we can turn things around.

The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup is a national conservation program that provides Canadians with the opportunity to take action in their communities, wherever water meets land. No matter how far you live from a coastline, you can be part of the solution.

Lead or join a shoreline cleanup today!
