Financial Accountability

We know it’s important to you that your donation to WWF-Canada is being used effectively. It’s important to us, too.

Our Commitment to Financial Accountability

Financial stewardship is key to achieving our conservation and fundraising goals and fulfilling donor expectations. To do that, we ensure we have a strong internal control environment, effective governance over all operations, and an annual independent audit of our financial records.

In addition to our annual report, we provide detailed stewardship reports to all our major donors describing how their money was spent and the conservation gains achieved with these funds. In the year ended June 30, 2019, we raised $25.3 million and invested $18.0 million in our conservation work.

Our Strategic Plan

Our five-year business plan outlines our conservation priorities and goals and how, with your help, we can continue our record of achievement. In the next five years, we will be working towards: a healthy future for the Arctic, all freshwater systems in good condition, healthy marine wildlife and ecosystems on all three coasts, and resilient communities co-existing with healthy nature across the country.

We’re lining up carbon-free energy that preserves the places key animals and plants live, harnessing smart conservation investments, inspiring new ways of shipping goods to sustain people while protecting wildlife and spurring community wealth by building marine protection solutions and fisheries that can last.

By 2020, WWF-Canada will demonstrate that healthy ecosystems can go hand- in- hand with strong local economies and community well-being. Not only is this balance possible — it’s essential.
