Sophie leads the implementation of conservation, urbans and human dominated areas research and restoration, public engagement and communication projects in Quebec, contributing to the development and implementation of WWF-Canada’s national priorities and fundraising efforts. She also leads all French-language communications across Canada.

Sophie has considerable communications and conservation experience. She worked as a broadcast journalist for numerous media outlets and as an international freelancer based in India, Honduras and Quebec’s North Shore. In a previous role, Sophie served as head of the Quebec office of Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society, Quebec chapter (CPAWS) and established the Sustainable Development Strategy at the City of Longueuil, Qc., helping the city create a plan alongside community, business and government partners.

In her community, Sophie is one of the founders of Mange-Trottoir, the first open collective urban agriculture project in Quebec. She also sits on the board of La Transformerie, a non-profit organization involved in raising awareness about reducing food waste. Sophie has a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Université Laval.
